About GRIP

Why do different states react differently to the same event?

What transforms geopolitical pressure into political decisions?

Can state behaviour be interpreted through a transparent and consistent analytical model?

GRIP - the Geopolitical Risk Interpretation Platform - was developed to answer exactly these questions.

The model examines how relatively stable national characteristics interact with scenario-specific pressures, triggers and modifiers. Its purpose is not to claim certainty about future decisions, but to identify the structural conditions under which particular forms of external reaction, internal response and political rhetoric become more or less plausible.

In this sense, GRIP is an attempt to examine the underlying architecture of state behaviour.
